Friday Night Dances

The Senior Center is hosting bi-monthly dances on Friday nights. No need to sign up, just pay at the door!

Overcoming the Common Myths of Hospice Care & Shopping For a Funeral Home: Tips for Saving Money


Come join us at the Swartz Creek Senior Center for a special Double Feature Lunch and Learn with Grace Hospice! The Rev. Steve Gonzales will present the workshop Shopping for a Funeral Home and their Branch RN/Administrator will present the workshop Overcoming Myths of Hospice. Call (810-635-4122) or sign up at the center in person by May 13th, 2022. Seating is limited so make sure to claim your spot soon!

OVERCOMING COMMON HOSPICE MYTHS  Presenter will discuss and educate regarding common myths about hospice in our society. The discussion will include the benefits of hospice and the barriers created by mis-perceptions which lead to many people not receiving the care they are entitled and eligible to receive.


SHOPPING FOR A FUNERAL HOME: TIPS FOR SAVING MONEY  We don't like to think about it. But eventually we’ll need to make funeral home arrangements either for our loved one or ourselves. Come to this workshop and discover your Federal Trade Commission Rights and how to save money when making final arrangements with a funeral home. Important information for veterans will be discussed. Each participant will receive the state of Michigan's Funeral Facts booklet.

A Matter of Balance

This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. 


You will learn to:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?

  • Anyone concerned about falls
  • Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • anyone who has fallen in the past
  • anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.
